How Can severe Pain In The Neck And Throat Be Treated?

I m am trying to help my 30 year old daughter, who has been going to doctors for neck and throat pain for 6 mo. She had blood tests, xrays and was told, ear infection, then TMJ, no relief. Now she is going to physical therapy and motrin for neck muscle strain. She is better with the neck pain, but has throat pain with trouble, swallowing and talking. Does she need an MRI? and any suggestions. thanks becky

Hi
Thanks for positng on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.
MRI may help reveal causes that blood tests and x ray may not show. However, i will suggest she sees an ENT specialist before going for the test. The best treatment to her problem will be after identidying the cause of her symptoms. An ENT specialist is in the best place to evaluate her.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns.
Best regards
